NEW FRANCHISE OWNERSHIP PROCESS:
Step 1 – Submit Request for Consideration Form
Step 2 – Initial Call with Scales ‘N Tails Franchising Representative
Step 3 – Submit Additional Information: Including Resume & Financial Statements
Step 4 – Operational Interview
Step 5 – Visit a Corporate Owned Scales ‘N Tails Location
Step 6 – Final Board Review & Approval
Step 7 – Execution of Franchise Agreement
NEW FRANCHISEE REQUIREMENTS:
Scales ‘N Tails net worth and capital requirements are:
● Minimum of $50,000 in cash or liquid assets
● Minimum net worth of $150,000
● Ability of obtain financing up to $250,000
These are minimum requirements and do not represent the total potential costs to open and operate one or more Scales ‘N Tails units.
SCALES ‘N TAILS FRANCHISEE QUALIFICATIONS ARE:
● Business Professionals with Management Experience
● Retail Experience Is Preferred
● Animal Experience Is Preferred
Cost, fees, and turn-key locations
The actual cost of a new Scales ‘N Tails® can vary by geographic location and desired size of the store. However, $150,000 will generally be sufficient to open a new store that occupies approximately 1,200 sf.
There will be a $20,000 Scales ‘N Tails Franchise Fee, for a term of 10 years, and 4.5% royalty on gross sales. It takes about 1-3 months to open a store. We understand that it is crucial to get a new store open as quickly as possible, and work hard to do just that. However, lease negotiations and required State/City licenses can add time.

We assist you every step of the way to get your new store open as quickly as possible. We’ll provide you with training at our company owned store in Colorado. Then we’ll come out to your location to help design, setup, and stock your new store. We’ll also have someone there for your first full week of business to provide grand opening support. We are always there to provide ongoing assistance if needed.
